Real "Judean People's Front v. People's Front of Judea" energy.

If some future Internet Studies professor at Xiaomi/Citi University wants to teach a course on 2020s culture and how People Got That Way, they could do a lot worse than starting with this piece.

I'm so sorry, Drew. I loved reading Dan's blogs and listening to him on the pod.

Hell hath no fury like an angry scrub nurse.

One video seems to show an agent grabbing a bronze handgun with a mounted optic a couple seconds before they shot him, and “outdoorsy VA nurse” is pretty much the middle of the Venn diagram for a liberal gun owner, so I’m not too doubtful. Not that it gives them any excuse.

The sentence after “…suffered a landing gear failure” is not what I expected. Reaching your ninth decade with that kind of career has got to be a 1/1000 event.

I wouldn’t have enjoyed paying Bo $47 million for one year.

Close to $100 million between luxury tax and the 5 million opt out bonus, but you’ve got to tip your hat.

"Realmistically" is a pun so overpoweringly intense that it ought to be banned in Utah and the more Puritan portions of New England.

Get him to start rocking the Geno Suarez man-bun, unlocking his 30+ HR power.

I'm bummed about missing out on Bichette too but I've never understood the Bohm hate. He's a 104 OPS guy who can do an okay job of standing near third base, which is fine? Fangraphs' 2.4 win projection seems high, but he doesn't strike out much and should be pretty low on the Phillies' to-do list.

More revenue sharing and a salary floor might not reduce $$$ for the biggest free agents, but it would absolutely improve life for small and mid-market fans.
January 16, 2026 at 4:44 PM
That is an *arresting* first clause to just read past.

And if reading a whole book is too big a lift he could listen to last year’s fantastic Know Your Enemy episode with Tanenhaus.

Or at some point he tries to invoke the 25th and fails spectacularly.

Don't worry, noted bullpen-genius bench coach Don Mattingly will keep everything on the straight and narrow.
