Also, I don’t know why, a lot of stouts seem to go for a dessert-style profile. There are a ton of peanut butter stouts, S’mores, Vanillas, Bananas Fosters, etc.

Stouts have always been noted for hints of chocolate but never really were until like the past 20 years. Breweries are just pushing that taste profile forward.
