Rewatched Matrix 2. It's peak. Wachowskis casually inventing the modern superhero movie 10+ years early while saying more profound things per minute than any of its descendants combined. Especially good for a movie thats a tie-in to a video game (/hj).

I rewatched The Matrix last night. Like I posted before, it is a medication with guaranteed immediate relief to all current doomerism. My gf had seen this one but not the sequels, so we'll def be watching those next.

"1 Over X", a novel by Bavitz, concluded. I've been following since it started in October. A fantastic horror novel about schizophrenia and content consumption and the modern media landscape and the way we engage with reality and fiction.

I started rereading YONQ by blasting through the first issue in a single sitting. I posted a review on here I won't bother linking to; I kinda downplayed YONQ on purpose because I love it so much and I have friends who won't engage with things I like too much. Check back when I finish my reread.

The first set of posts here I'm going to be playing catch-up, cause we're already 12 days into the year.

Technically I started playing "I AM YOUR BEAST" late last year, and I still have the DLC to play, but I'm counting it as the first media of the year anyway.

I used up my words so tiny review:

I'm in a couple new small communities that are helping but I have a hard time speaking up. I'm kinda used to the non-stop chats I can lurk all day but that is just a trait that is exclusive to the Fandom space.

I have a lot of acquaintances in their 30s that I am too scared to get to know better and all entry points into new communities are filled with teenagers. I'm clutching desperately to my early-20s friends, begging them to mature to my level when I really just need to find other late-20s

This is what happens when you're consistently a few years behind in maturity as a teenager and then spend your 20s convinced you are not acceptably mature enough to hang out with other people in their 20s. Now I turn 30 next year and don't really fit in anywhere

The bigger problem is that I just need to find more communities of people my age. And not even that there are minors around in the Homestuck server, but like, its starting to get where there's an impassible culture chasm between even my friends that are in their early-20s
