And we need to extract groundwater responsibly. 🧪💧

“Since at least 2008, scientists have warned that unchecked groundwater pumping for the city and for agriculture was rapidly draining the country’s aquifers. The overuse did not just deplete underground reserves—it destroyed them, as the land compressed and sank irreversibly.” 🧪

That sounds nice, but it’s not what’s happening in this case. Drought & overuse has depleted & destroyed their aquifers through subsidence & compression that removes porosity & permeability. Then there is no place for water recharge. See the article. 🧪

😝 good to hear from you! I hope you are well!

We need to stop burning fossil fuels as quickly as possible. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨💧🔋

Yes! I’ve experienced the joy of using parts handed down to me by my father for repairs. Happiness is a well stocked shop!

Thanks! I’ve done that one in the past. It definitely makes your day! 🤣

The CarbonBrief article notes: "Reflecting a difficult geopolitical situation heading into COP30, the leaders of China, the US and India – the “planet’s three biggest polluters” – were “notably absent” from the leaders summit, reported the Associated Press." 🧪 See the article for links

It seems to me that an agreement to " “roadmaps” outside the formal UN regime." is a major step back on international climate policy. 🧪

Here is the link they provide to the "scores of nations" reference in the quote above: bsky.app/profile/josh...
The list of countries backing some sort of “fossil-fuel roadmap” at COP30 includes large oil-and-gas producers such as Norway, Mexico and Brazil.

However, the 80+ countries reportedly supporting it so far only produce 7% of the world’s fossil-fuel energy.

This screenshot from the CarbonBrief article may say it all. Did COP just legislate themselves out of relevance? See alt test for details. 🧪

Agreed. I'm not talking about geoengineering. I'm talking about mitigation to shift from fossil fuels to renewables with storage to reduce emissions as quickly as possible.

Wonderful. All of our cats have been or are strays or rescues.

He lived with us for 17 years and he was an adult when he showed up, so he may have been as old as 18 to 20.

He was a remarkable cat. So hopefully yours will enjoy the heating pad as much.
