In American slang, there is a regrettably vulgar but extremely apt phrase for this phenomenon: "bros before hoes."

It explains &, most importantly, *predicts* the political behavior of many men, including men of the left: ready to defend the liberation of everyone except the women who serve them.

TEN GRAND ON POLITICAL MERCH?!? So much for "economic anxiety."

Holy mother of god, did it really not occur to you that there could be ANY other explanation for my phrasing besides "durr, stupid American doesn't know it's THE Hague?"

I'm not even going to mention your spelling.

Perhaps someone here with more patience than I can explain the "Jaws" pun to you.

Take your "pick me!" act elsewhere.

Not identical, which is my point. Women are the majority of the US population: the "comfort" and protection of the laws do not apply to us. That's not a nuance or incidental.

MALE

Do you know what happens when women attempt to take up arms to defend themselves, including in "Stand Your Ground" states? They get thrown in prison. Consistently. No matter what their race or class.

Currently sitting in the land of my ancestors, who considered themselves lucky to move to America, and wondering what they would make of their great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild seeking refuge *from* America by pulling a u-turn.

Survivors of sexual predation would disagree with you. Strongly.
Not taking that seriously is part of how we got here.

And of course that's the important part, right? Not the consequences of your (in)actions, but how you feel about it.

Karl Rove? Dayum. Not enough money in the world to make that coupling worthwhile.

He's probably already sent them to swim with the fishes.

Thank you. I've been responding to Lufthansa's email correspondence, which allegedly comes from the Cologne office--since my flight originated in Europe--but they've just blanked me. No response in the past month.

Probably a lot of it could have been avoided.

My publicly-available lectures are all about my research expertise, which is on offshore finance, elites and tax avoidance. Check out my pinned post. Nothing on gender, unfortunately.
