Maybe it's my age, but when coding using AI for anything more than scaffolding, brainstorming and rubber ducking just guts my confidence. I don't feel any ownership or satisfaction from it.

#motosky where are you from and what was the best road you've ridden on?

I think Ray Porter might have the best narrator voice I've come across.

Loved Project Hail Mary.
Loved Bobiverse.
Loved Threshold Universe.
Etc etc

Going from working with AWS to working with Azure felt like a step back. But GCP definitely feels like two steps forward!

The great thing about working in Amsterdam is working in Amsterdam. The bad thing about working in Amsterdam is working in Amsterdam.

Crazy how strength differs between people. I did a 150KG 1RM Deadlift last week, and my friend did 135KG.

Yesterday we did Power Cleans, and I only got to 68KG, while he got to 88KG.

Strong legs vs strong upper body?

Self-hosted Rustdesk + Tailscale really is a nice and private remote-desktop solution.

I found my old Galileoscope and after just seeing Jupiter and a couple of moons, I'm already shopping around for a proper beginner telescope. Looking for an all rounder that will also impress the kids. I'm in a very light polluted area. Maybe also an SLR mount? Any advice? #astronomy #beginner

Out youngest decided a few days ago 4.30am is the best time to start the day. I don't think her sister and brother, nor her parents, agree.

The Advent of Code day 4 challenge made me realize I'm a visual thinker and need to be able to literally see a problem in front of me before I can work my way out of it. Explains why I pivoted towards Frontend years ago: basically crayons.

Sometimes you just have to re-do an Advent of Code problem if you're too stumped. Having a toddler wake you at 4.30AM also probably doesn't help.

Doing Advent Of Code in TypeScript and Go. Such a fun exercise to outline the differences in coding style and coming to solutions in both languages!

I'm looking for a solid place to order some stunning high quality astrophotography (Hubble, jwst, etc) and/or mission photos (Apollo, mars, Rosetta, etc) to hang around my house. Any tips? International shipping required

Sick. I'm running WebStorm over SSH from a different location with X forwarding and it works FLAWLESSLY. If only I'd have known this sooner, no need for a big fat laptop!

What do you think? Is the frontend world stabilizing onto a semi-default toolchain? If so, what are the prima candidates? I do sometimes miss the opinionated world of backend (although I really love the freedom that is frontend)

I always wanted one of these as a kid. Picked up a miniature USB one for 4.95. Money well spent!
