Part adjunct, part self-employed, entirely neurodivergent. She/her in STEM, i.e., had pronouns before people got offended by them. Can't believe it's controversial to not want SARS. Also plays with string 🧶

Hey new followers, I recognize a few of you from Bird Hell Site (detector webapp came online or got noticed?) so I assume y'all know this, but so the rest of you know what's in the tin:

* quite autistic
* numbers are fun
* yarn yarn yarn
* cute lizard is cute
* fuck Nazi bullshit

If I were trying to give something addictive away for Halloween I would simply get a case of full size Snickers.

Reminds me of one of those episodes of Gordon Ramsay Cussing At People where a vegan(?) restaurant was about to go out of business and one of the things he did to get them some cash flow was get a soup and a roll lunch special going.

Yes, I know the site is not supposed to update anything about it early.

Yes, I get that, if it glitches and shows a score, I wouldn't be able to trust that the score is a score rather than a placeholder or total random glitch.

Yes, I checked.

I can't help but wonder who's been providing his income during this "year to focus on personal growth."
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
Isn't that assuming Thanksgiving size portions? If it's actually fit for the intended use case, it would stretch a bit further without trying, for day to day meal purposes.
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
If you've got freezer space, packing it down into meal prep containers to use like TV dinners would not be out of the question. (Could be true of most any catering size meal, really.)
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
The bottle, when full, is a decent paperweight, also.
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
Frick. Does that work? I could find some drugs if it were for the greater good.
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
Will you get ice cream for that? I feel like ice cream should be an option.
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
I found a 20 pack (~a year's supply depending on dust levels, from what I can gather) for $5.99.

How in the absolute procreational act do they think it's OK to not even tell people that avoiding this is an option?
Two small rectangular filters, one very used, the other fresh for comparison purposes, demonstrating the difference between the two. When I say very used, I'm not saying you could grow carrots or potatoes in the dirt on the old one, but something lighter on the roots like a nice cherry tomato vine is not out of the question.
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
Hey #CPAP Crewmates, IDK who else's relevant medicreature didn't tell them this but: the damn thing has a replaceable filter and I found out about it whilst looking for something else, after A YEAR AND A HALF.

"Christianity is under attack!"

They say as they literally shoot a man of the cloth for doing what his religion tells him to do.

At some point we really are going to need to unpack what we mean by consent, bc it's really janky that the same words are shorthand for "because of their age, if necessary (e.g. kidney surgery) their parents agree on their behalf" and "because of their age, it's automatically a crime."
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
This isn't fair

Legal stimulants are how lots of people handle ADHD and adjacent (i.e. executive function jankifying) neurospice

they just slapped a surgeons general warning on RFK like he’s a pack of cigarettes

I'm theoretically on there too but in practice haven't logged in in months bc the ratio of friction to hanging out with pocket friends bounced me off. But I guess it's still on the shortlist for where groups would try to re-condense...
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
Another thing about reading is, compared to other story-absorbing hobbies, it doesn't multitask well. You can watch a movie or TV while doing something boring you have to do anyway like cleaning.

Hey pocket friends!

In case this place dries up and blows away, do y'all have any links I can throw in my RSS reader? Even if all you'll use it for is posting where else to find you.

Mine is at ebrillblaiddes.dreamwidth.org/data/rss (if you want human-formatted you can take off /data/rss).

IKR, the ratio of friction to shootin' the breeze with my pocket friends just is not what I'm looking for over there.

It'll get easier for her to fill out as the kittens switch from nursing to eating food! She'll probably just keep the appetite as if they were nursing for a while.
ebrillblaiddes.bsky.social
IDK who needs to hear this, but: for any sewing project where fabric meant for quilts is suitable in the first place, quilt backing is about twice the fabric per yard as you're probably used to (depending on the pattern pieces and your spatial skills you might even need *less* than half the fabric).

It’s not the “lockdowns,” or at least that shouldn’t be our primary concern now. It’s the effects of the virus itself, which is a harder fact for people to face. Since there are no mitigations in society, new cases of cognitive dysfunction from COVID happen everyday. It’s not over.
Mounting research shows that COVID-19 leaves its mark on the brain, including significant drops in IQ scores
Two new high-profile studies add to the increasingly worrisome picture of how even mild cases of COVID-19 can have detrimental effects on brain health.

I mean frick, it's them that named the tools. "Reinstate" would have described the use case better than "release."
