Honestly, I’ve never gotten to deep into trying to understand PR. My understanding is that candidates run in district and then after the votes are counted percentages are figured out and parties are allocated seats proportionally. What I’ve never been clear on is who gets the seats and who decides

I’ve never been able to reconcile how I can win an election to represent a district/riding (and help my party win) and then be told I wouldn’t sit in the legislature because….why?
This question has always been a conversation stopper whenever I’ve gotten involved in one.
