#unifi updates have been great in the past… but please stop changing the UI with each update. I can never find what I’m looking for now since every update has moved the element somewhere else! Stability is good. Otherwise this is chaos!

Airlines really always find ways to screw you. Taking the same flight I’ve taken for 4 times this year and won’t let me checkin and now must waste time lining up.

If you’re spamming me via text to vote for you, I will intentionally NOT vote for you. I did not allow you to use my phone number and your disrespect for my privacy is a disqualification for your candidacy. I’m looking at you #newyork #democrat #primaries.

You really don’t know what others are thinking until you’ve had a chance to experience it yourself. In this vein, I’ve finally decided I need to learn how #android devices work and how it compares to #iphones. #pixel9 will be the guinea pig. Ready to check out the other side!

#unifi #network backup and restore to a different gateway is truly a well done #ux! All the critical things settings moved over while some settings didn’t (eg. Disable auto update) guess that makes sense since it’s at the console level. Kudos and well done #uniquiti! #uxdesign #uxmatters

So much abuse of PII data in todays apps and services. When my robovac requires I share my exact gps location just to setup WiFi, I went to great lengths to hack my gps so it will think I’m somewhere else. This needs to stop!

Stay warm Toronto! Been a long time since I’ve seen so much snow. I always chuckle at anyone wearing large parkas at New York. Global warming has ruined all the snow there.

The evolution of tech is clear. At the end of the day, it’s not about making the world a better place. It’s all about money and maximizing profits as any capitalism business is. If you still don’t know this, then the latest news should be an awakening.

Its great bluesky has a new photo app. Great there’s a new photo app using activitypub as well. What’s not great is the splintering of apps for alttech. Social media apps depend on the network and splintering does not help build a network. It’s why I now need to install both Bluesky and Mastodon

It’s wild nearly every random phone number I have already receives spam and scams day 1. The data harvesting companies out there have stolen so many phone numbers.

The tech company that retailers use to reject online orders: we know you are spying on everyone’s email. You are killing your retailing clients’ business of legitimate orders. I will take my money elsewhere then.

Reinstalling proxmox for a new server and while looking for the handy post install script just learned tteck, the original author, has passed. 😔 RIP. Happy to see his memory will live on in the fork for the project.

Finally getting the hang of home assistant. It’s intimidating at first, but totally worth learning and spending the time to configure a truly “smart” home! And I totally nerd out on all the logs!

For all the money insurance companies make, why are all their websites absolutely junk? 2024 and companies still don’t know how to build websites…

What’s with the craze for gigantic water cups? Do people really carry those around? We only have two hands… wouldn’t want to have one hand just dedicated to carrying a gigantic water thermos everywhere I go… #dailythoughts
