you can draw sequences directly with the mouse. or you can use the input jacks: the "analog" 0-10 voltage range is mapped to an 8-bit integer, then interpreted as a binary sequence. not very intuitive, but it does allow you to store many gate patterns in a single patch file.

i frequently pair Ronda with another module i'm working on, called Agate. it's an addressable gate sequencer that can run in three modes: 1 channel x 32 steps, 2 channels x 16 steps, or 4 channels x 8 steps. #synthsky

the frequency ratio of each of ronda's LFO's can be any value between 1/32 and 32. certain values can be useful for creating syncopation. also note that you can use the clock and sync ports to synchronize the LFO's to each other. #synthsky

here's a more complex demo of ronda's utility. in this rendition of a familiar tune by jeroen tel, lfo 1 runs the bass pattern and modulates the arp pulse width, lfo 3 runs the hi-hat, snare, and arp patterns, and lfo 4 drives the arpeggiation itself. the clock pulses trigger the kick drum.

lately i've been designing and programming my own vcv rack modules. the one on the left, Ronda, generates 4 sawtooth LFO's and 4 clocks. each saw/clock pair's frequency is determined by its ratio knob multiplied by the main frequency.
