Honestly, the track length really hits the quality imo. It’s hard to get into a song when it’s gone so soon. (Seriously, the longest song on the album isn’t even 3 minutes)

I figured I’d publicly post my thoughts here, because I feel like TLT might be the type of band to look up their name. I’ve seen nothing but pure positivity about the album. So I wanted to put some constructive criticism into the pot.

Rust was kinda weak imo, but I think they’ll do better

It’s extremely repetitive both in and out of the chorus, and the lyrics don’t make up for it. The instrumental during most of it also isn’t anything I necessarily care for enough to relisten to it.

On a more positive note, the cover of TWBOY is really pretty sounding. I think it’s my #2 from Rust

I will say, I still really like Be Alone. I think it’s a big standout from the album.

Malibu Pier was CLOSE to being really good. If they kept the outro and tempo of the demo, it’d probably be top 3 of the album imo.

I believe I Walk Ahead Of You is like just bad though.

Their best songs usually focus on the experience of one person. For example, My Ordinary Life.

This album doesn’t really do that.

Also, some of the choices were a bit odd. Name an album after the character portrayed by one member, and have the self-titled track entirely missing them?

It’s over 30% shorter than their last album, despite having the same number of tracks

The vocal mixing is a bit off on some tracks, making them feel unfinished.

The tracks lack the much more personal feel of their other songs

One of the tracks is a (admittedly really good) cover, and it’s 1:30

Imagine how funny it would be to wake up and suddenly the Virtual Boy is the most successful console in the world

I recently watched a show about magic that ran for multiple years with 60+ hours of content total. The ending felt like they had to cram all of the season’s plot into the last 3 episodes, and the pacing/decisions were terrible.

But because a main character died, people attribute complaints to that.
