There's been a lot said about ethical and responsible use of AI/generative AI but in my opinion there is no such thing because the harms to the environment, to workers in the Global South, the use of others' work without attribution or consent, these things alone would make it unethical for me.

Given that AI is becoming so embedded in what we do, it's possible that I might be using something AI without realising it, however I opt not to use generative AI in particular wherever possible.

My reasons for not using AI are primarily ethical as I'm deeply concerned about the environmental, social and psychological harms that it is doing, especially generative AI. So I don't use ChatGPT and if there's an AI tool mentioned on a website or app that I use, I always try to avoid them.
