You are really trying to sqeeze the latest attack on international law by Trump into some post hoc legal framework?
This is not the time to minimize the fallout by pretending there was no breach of internatrional law, you have to stand for something.

This is a cowardly response to an illegal attack on a sovereign nation. And don't make up excuses for Trump, he didn't even bother to make up some plausible reason for the abduction.

You may give him ideas about the legitimacy of EU leaders elected while "censoring free speech"...
