Finished Daredevil S1-3
e of the greatest works of TV ever. Even though Defenders is kinda required for S3, the whole Netflix series I've seen have been great watches in their own way. (Seen S1 only of the others. Punisher and Jessica Jones been my favs. Luke Cage is good, Iron Fist is ok but couldve used more love. Their lows are still MUCH higher than D+ lows.)The Catholic imagery in particular resonates the most with me since I too am a Catholic. I remember being told by some members of the church to be condescending to non Catholics but I never understood that and always tried to be good to everyone. It was nice seeing Matt/Daredevil protecting all walks of life in both law and vigilantism. Daredevil is a warrior for all people. Matt's struggle with the double life, depression, lore and at times wavering faith make for a compelling protagonist that's flawed yet very relatable. The side characters are also very compelling as well, and it breaks my heart whenever tragedy strikes. Kingpin is the perfect counterpart to Daredevil, being the literal ill intent that plagued the man going from Jerusalem to Jericho in the Bible. Interesting how Kingpin always tries to portray himself as a being of good, disguised as an angel (but really a demon) and Daredevil strikes fear into the hearts of the criminal underworld but is not a killer and helps those that are powerless. Again that religious imagery is subtle at times but really fascinating. Comparing this to D+ is like fast food and gourmet. Sure I enjoy fast food butI can tell that Daredevil was made with passion. I hope Born Again hits a similar tone. We aren't tired of superhero media. We're tired of projects made without passion, and they should really just develop the characters and the setting moreso than just cameo fests. (References in this show were done well and pretty tastefully IMO) I reccomend this show to anyone interested in drama, crime, law or superhero shows. Hell really anyone can pick this up. And should
