I didn't expect that the Wii U was still delivering game updates! Just opened my sealed copy of ZombiU🫤 and updated it in preparation for my first "A Wiinter is U" stream of the season tomorrow night.

After finishing Batman Returns, I decided to check out The Death and Return of Superman (SNES). I *really* wanted to like it but aside from the superb art and animation, there isn't much to recommend it. It's repetitive, bland, and brutal. Thanks to unlimited continues I slogged through. #JustBeatIt

Trying to revive a Christmas tradition. The 11-year-old didn't remember most of the Chipmunks Christmas special, but wanted to watch (instead of doing chores). The 3-year-old bailed for a few minutes but came back and seemed to enjoy it. 😅

I never threw out any video game stuff, but I should have kept this promo soundtrack for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories with the Wii disc. I never finished the game but I've been meaning to. I think I'll have a better time tackling it now than back in 2009 (when I also got too busy to game much).

First up, my son learned about the War of the Worlds radio broadcast in school; they were teaching about truth in media. I meant to play it for him, and I'm sure this old-timey cassette tape is the best way. 😅

Thanks for the giveaway! I wrote and had several gaming-inspired books published this year, but I'm proudest of this one, which is about middle schoolers starting an esports team. Several of them are really into old games, and the main character is named after Chell from Portal.

I finally played through the original Double Dragon arcade game, and it made me appreciate the NES game even more. 😅 Believe it or not, these moving wall blocks are somehow extra annoying in the original game! #MiSTerFPGA

Oh, wow... The new Thundercats Sword of Omens from Trick or Treat Studios is WAY more impressive than I expected. Side-by-side with my vintage LJN toy sword.

I knocked out Dracula again last night! (Easiest Drac fight ever?) So, Castlevania: Dracula X is perfectly OK. I begrudgingly admit Super Castlevania IV is technically better, but DX is closer to the traditional 8-bit games I prefer. 🤷 I look forward to keep playing for more endings. #JustBeatIt
