While it may seem nondescript to some, and too wild to others, to me it is just perfect. It fills in the space provided for it perfectly. I love its natural form and enjoy it small but cheerful flowers (as do pollinators).

Finally, apparently our Elbow Bush (Forestiera pubescens) thinks it is spring because it has decided to flower. I planted the Elbow Bush on the berm in front of my office, and I enjoy it immensely.

Second photo features Bushy Bluestem (Andropogon glomeratus) which provides ample texture, height and rich, cinammon color. (To the right of it is Lindheimer Muhly (Muhlenbergia lindheimeri) - another great native grass).

from a customer's property, & I left some of it for future projects. Part of it is now a table/sitting stool next to the new garden bed. I love re-purposing things.

And Blue Flax (Linum lewisii) is loving the cooler weather and decided to bloom. Lovely surprise. And the foliage is really cool, too.

I wish I had space to do something on a larger scale, but no matter how small, I am still excited about this project. Soon I will be planting... it will not look much like anything for a few months but that's okay. I can wait, it's worth it.

I walked the garden this morning, and the flower heads still stand out and look attractive even now. But then again, I love the understated beauty of a late fall or winter garden.

But also, and to me it is important, it is attractive as the flower petals fade away and drop to the ground, leaving this very attractive seedhead.
