Last week, New Brunswick Green Party Leader David Coon re-introduced a Private Member’s Bill to establish a provincial framework for the right to a healthy environment and it passed First Reading.

Alberta’s 2025 #MatureAssetStrategy proposes shifting oil and gas cleanup costs away from industry — despite nearly 330,000 unreclaimed wells and cleanup liabilities estimated at $100 billion (or more). 

When polluters don’t pay, taxpayers do.

Landowners like Dwight extended partnership to an industry that fundamentally misled and betrayed them, and that has been let off the hook from some of their legal cleanup obligations by a government that appears too cozied-up to polluters to make them #CleanUpTheirMess.

Instead, Dwight's family got left with a methane-emitting hole that pollutes the air and land around them, lowers their property value, and puts their health at risk.
