He/Him
My opinions are my own.
Our AMC has split the showings so you could watch all 3 in a row. Starts at 12:30 pm and ends at 1:30 am.

I chose not to do that. Lol.

I can't believe they actually filled it.

Lord of the Rings day?

If the Supreme Court wasn't already leaning toward declaring the tariff authority unconstitutional (and they probably are), this will harden the resolve of any of them that were wavering. It may go as far as a 6-3 decision.

This is one of the most insane things he's done which is pretty amazing.

Soooo, we've installed a new dictator in Venezuela for oil and now we want Greenland for Insulin? Does he know Insulin isn't pumped from the ground?

Either your pool will scream at you which deck to build or your deck will be meh. Given the complexity of most sets lately, I bet you'll build 25% faster and with less stress than usual.

Otherwise, it's mostly normal. Open bombs and X-0 or don't open bombs and scrap for an X-2.

It way easier to just sign an executive order after the fact saying mail-in voting is illegal than is it to try to stop the post office from delivering ballots.

Is that legal? Of course not.

Would Congress or the Supreme Court stand up to him? Of course not.
January 16, 2026 at 8:58 PM
It feels unlikely the Supreme Court or Congress would stand against him on any of those.
January 16, 2026 at 8:55 PM
I think there are far easier ways to do this with executive orders. First off, he could just sign one that says the elections were fraudulent and thus invalid. He can sign a different one declaring mail-in voting illegal. He can lean on Congress to refuse to ratify election results after the fact.

I can never unsee that now. Thanks Vince.

Is Nuka Cola Machine the chase card in the drop?
January 16, 2026 at 8:30 PM
So very Schumer-esque.

And focusing on one kind of casting lets you play into that as a secondary synergy so you're not entirely dependent on your commander to play a game. Like a Lucky Clover for Adventures.

I've never heard of that. It paints itself!

That's really fun! I hadn't thought of Adventures or Imprint. Doomskar is cute, but don't want to be putting a free creature into play with it. Lol.

So many potential mechanics. Warp, Suspend, Flashback, Aftermath, and on and on.

It feels like Avatar's Wrath could go really hard in that deck.
January 14, 2026 at 10:28 PM
Is that supposed to synergize with Plot, but actually synergizes with a dozen mechanics? That seems really cool.

How do you keep your hand full? There's Fblthp, but I don't think that will keep the engine going on his own.

There's no country in the world better at producing ice masters than Canada. It's a niche export, to be sure, but very valuable when needed.
January 13, 2026 at 3:20 PM
A great pseudo commander redundancy card in Yuna, Hope of Spira. Great synergy with her when they're both on the battlefield.

Not stuck with only Nesting Grounds as a repeatable effect.
January 13, 2026 at 3:15 PM
It must be a nightmare in the early and mid game. One Tyvar's Stand and you're practically out of the game for 2 turns while rebuilding.
January 13, 2026 at 12:50 PM
How does anyone play against Mole God when it's rolling? If you block it early, you would lose 4 power's worth of creatures *and* get smacked in a second combat phase. If you don't block it, you've got 8 commander damage on you and you may die outright to a big damage-enhancing effect next time.

Ah. I hadnt understood the issue. I have not had the pleasure of ever watching a Pokémon pack opening. I wonder if it started there or started in sports card openings.

Its been quite a while since I opened a pack from the top and pulled cards out, so I suppose "open" is more appropriate, anyway.
January 12, 2026 at 11:29 PM
He's not personally up for election so he won't care*that* much. It is far easier to sign an executive order throwing out the results of the elections saying they were unfair. The Supreme Court will have his back with a shadow docket ruling. That only takes 6 people to execute.
January 12, 2026 at 12:24 PM
Funny thing is that they've been spending the past few years making Fling effects less punitive.

The sheer possibility of getting 2-for-1'd means this will have an uphill battle to see play in standard.

I absolutely can't get my brain to believe ICE has lethal weapons and judicial immunity. It just doesn't compute.

Normal people impacted by a decision they made in favor of short-term profits and not people (unnecessary layoffs, denied health claims, increased pharmaceutical prices)
January 10, 2026 at 3:41 PM
This is only the draft in a box kits, right? I feel you could pretty easily put together a draft the usual way with a stack of loose play boosters?
