I am pretty sure their brains can't hit deep enough sleep to dream, which comes along with being on the lower rungs of the food chain 🐰

from the replies:
"punctuated with a slap" is hilarious. I can take a slap & would probably just leave depending on the context. Sometimes a terrified dude trying to be intimidating has the same effect

"or else" is dangerous. Now I'm curious & kind of want to find out. Maybe we should dance 🤠

my assumption is users typically get a jolt from either adopting early or waiting too long to update, maybe 10% on each tail of the curve. Whether they like it or not is another question

80% are going to adopt new features as they become generally available, which should be a smooth experience /6

the book talks about jerk a lot, which is the rate of change of acceleration, or the 3rd derivative of position.

Is it a feature or a bug? should new tech, including updates, be so subtle we don't notice them or knock us out of our seats?

PD says it should be up to the end users

yep that all tracks. I ❤️ the math when it holds & isn't a bunch of hand wavy BS 💯

I can keep playing with the vector idea I have some other tools it might mix well with

before I get too far down this rabbit hole I need to remind myself some of these are qualitative metrics & I can't assume the math will work out cleanly.

The unit vector for agency might be a real thing tho I'll need to mull it over /4

Progressive Delivery = (Abundance × Autonomy) / (Alignment × Automation)

my refactoring 👇

PD = individuals/people

or

abundance/alignment = demand

&

autonomy/automation = agency

agency sort of looks like a unit vector 🤔

the 1st thing I noticed was the word "right" on the cover 3 times. The authors have done a solid job of framing some sociotechnical problems by the end of chapter 1 & they all have a lot of inertia & complexity on the social side. Interested to see how it gets addressed 🤔 /2
