Unless there‘s a law that states your credit card application cannot be denied, only those with low credit scores would be affected, i.e., everyone who would normally be charged a rate higher than the suggested 10%. Would be interesting to know how much consumer spending of that population is.

Many countries have usury laws. In my country credit cards may currently not charge more than 12%. I think in the US it’s the states that set interest rate caps. There‘s conflicing theories about the pros and cons of this. I‘m no expert but it would be interesting to see some studies on it.

I also experienced this and made a CLAUDE.md file last year to help with some of the basics, and @jeremy-data.bsky.social just turned it into Claude Skills! They're in his repo for now but plans to add them to Posit's public skills repo! github.com/jeremy-allen...
