Me: are you trying to say Jacques? It's a French name.
Student 1: no that's wrong. He's black not French.

Losing your hearing, even temporarily, sucks. However, it is when we are challenged that we are able to grow.

Kids will roast you regardless of how good their English is. I asked an English Learner if she liked my stage decorations. She gave me the most judgemental look and went "eeeeehhhnn... not good" My feelings are a little hurt.
