Interesting data point: our mild-mannered Dem Congressional Rep from central Illinois is promoting a concrete reform agenda that involves ending Citizens United (!! a big ask!). Not packing SCOTUS but steps towards ethics rules (enforced by whom I wonder)

Gen X complaint! I was shocked when putting luxury brand names on things got cool after Y2K. Fashion isn’t real etc. but grunge was pretty easy to pull off if you didn’t have money in the 90s. Lavish spending was “gross” and for “posers”: maybe the wheel will turn again.

Gen X complaint! I was shocked when putting luxury brand names on things got cool after Y2K. Fashion isn’t real etc. but grunge was pretty easy to pull off if you didn’t have money in the 90s. Lavish spending was “gross” and for “posers”: maybe the wheel will turn again.
This guy (I know! 😄) doesn’t see an obvious way out of the loop “seeing rich influencers on social media -> hating self & being pessimistic.”
But fashions have changed & might change again! The rich didn’t use to be “cool”: they were stuck with an uncool preppy style.
