Re: Texas National Guard in Chicago. Texas has a bigger violent crime problem with a violent crime rate of 389 offenses per 100,000 people in 2024 compared to Illinois' rate of 289 offenses per 100,000 people. Recent studies also rank Texas as 48th out of 50 states for overall safety.

The violence, fires, and burning of buildings in 2020 were largely initiated by right wing extremists. You only need to research the police logs -- police investigators found most arrests were of those tied to right wing.
