By the end of February some 80% of people who joined a gym in January will have quit.

Maybe it's time to ask if those goals could be met with 'cycle to work'. Readers probably already do, but maybe a t-shirt will help start the conversation with your colleagues […]

A shorter ride through the New Town this month. Beat the January blues and ride with us for safer streets!
January 28, 2026 at 11:26 PM
We ride for safer streets, and we get them by having our officials put in the work to make them.

Ask them to show up on Tuesday.

Ask your MP to attend the debate on women's safety
We only have a few days to get lots of MPs asking for changes to make sure women can cycle safely and confidently all year round at a debate in Parliament on Tuesday. Will you send yours a quick email to make sure they know about it?

Someone got in touch about a bike they found dumped in a bush and it reminds us that the Internet can be very helpful in getting your bike back. Register the frame number here free.

It's the first result if people are searching about lost bikes.

Used by all UK Police forces, BikeRegister's marking kits can help reduce the likelihood of cycle theft by 83%. Every year hundreds of cyclists are reunited with their stolen bikes through the BikeRegister database.

The city is a shared space and everyone should be playing nice.

But bikes are much more agile than cars so we can help fix things by stopping to report problems at https://www.fixmystreet.com/ in a way cars can't.

Report what it is and where it is and they'll get the message to the right people.
FixMyStreet
Report, view, and discuss local street-related problems.

See you for the next ride on the 31st of January!

When people are asked why they don't cycle, top of the list is safety. Openstreetmap is essentially Wikipedia for maps and has a cycling overlay to show cycling infrastructure.

Start checking if your nearest bit is on the map, and eventually you can map disaster areas too!
