I know I shouldn't be surprised by anything the government does anymore but in terms of responses this is especially uh

The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Ban payment processors stopping services based on objections to legal content”.

Government responded:

Payment processors are able to choose who they process payments for, subject to any relevant requirements. The Government has no plans to intervene in those commercial decisions.

The Government recognises the important role payments plays in supporting a resilient, diverse and growing economy. The Government is committed to ensuring that the UK’s payment system works for all, allowing businesses and customers to transact with confidence.

The Government recognises that it is important for businesses to have greater choice in the forms of payment that they can accept. The National Payments Vision, published in November 2024, set out the Government’s ambition for a world-leading payments ecosystem, where consumers and businesses have a choice of payment methods to meet their needs. A key part of this ambition is the continued development of Open Banking, which enables consumers to make purchases using a wider range of payment methods, including account-to-account payments, thereby increasing competition in the payments sector. HM Treasury is working closely with the financial services regulators to deliver these outcomes.

Decisions regarding which businesses payment processors contract with are a commercial matter, taking into account the relevant requirements on the firm. These decisions will be influenced by a variety of factors, and the Government has no plans to intervene in those commercial decisions.

It is wild just how quickly you can get comfortable saying words in your vocab to the point where you don't even realise how much you're doing it. A little bit of variation in that is healthy imo

I was talking with Mum about this yesterday actually, about how stereotypes like fear of certain groups of people can be completely demolished by simply having someone of that group to talk to. It breaks down those barriers entirely

This is why I always say that people should work in service at least once in their lives, because it will very quickly show you can anyone regardless of their background, culture, religion, gender etc. can be either the nicest person or the most horrid individual you will meet that day.

I don’t mask, at least not knowingly. Genuinely didn’t even know the meaning of the word until a few years back.
I’ve always felt that honesty is the best policy and following that has always made me feel right.

Unfortunately, that has costed me a number of jobs and friend groups.

I was shown an old Krazy Kat cartoon series when I was younger, I can't find it nowadays but I loved that series man, she's always had a place in my heart somewhere.
