📣 📣 We are back! 📣 📣

After more than 2 years away from social media, we are excited to reconnect and engage with the community. Life changes, new jobs, and moves around the world have kept us quiet - but behind the scenes, we have been planning and building. Now we are ready to relaunch EDIG!

The EDIG logo. The EDIG Logo is a blue and green (representing land masses and the ocean) globe, with a grey banner wrapping around its centre. Within the grey banner are the letters 'E. D. I. G'. There are three blue hands holding up the globe.

Next week, we will do a deeper dive into some of the resources and tools we have available on the website!

Take a look, and if you have any suggestions or additional resources to include, please reach out! And, if you would like to contact us or join our team, you will find all our information on the “Contact” tab.

🌏 Our other section is all about Resources! We want this to act as a platform where you can come and find resources and tools related to equity, diversity, and inclusion, so we can all learn together.

🌎 We have also outlined our past events and activities, including our 2020 survey and past online conferences ("Survey" and "Activities" tabs).

We wanted to share some details of what you can find on our new website!

🌍 On the updated ediingeo.org website, you can find information about EDIG: who we are, our goals, and why we were established in 2020 (“Home” and “About” tabs).

Screenshot of the EDIG website homepage. The EDIG Logo is in the top left corner (globe with blue hands) and then the website tabs are listed in the top middle to right: Home, About, Survey, Activities, Resources, Contact. The biggest part of the screenshot is the blued-out image of hills, with the word 'Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Geoscience (EDIG)' overlain in white.

But we felt it was an important task, as over the years of organising conferences, talking with other groups, and meeting new people, we have gathered resources and information we wanted a place to share them.

🌐 As you can imagine, it was not without challenges, since most of us are scientists with close to no experience in creating a website.

📣 Since our post last week, we wanted to share an update on one of the activities we have been working on over the past while. One of the big things is a new website!

🌍 While it will continue to evolve and grow as we do, we are happy to share the new EDIG website: ediingeo.org

🌍 We have set up a new BlueSky account (this one)!

➡️ So, moving forward, we will focus on LinkedIn and BlueSky!

🌎 We are launching a new LinkedIn page (www.linkedin.com/company/edig...) to reflect EDIG as a volunteer organisation. Please follow and share with your network, so we can (re)connect! We will disconnect our old LinkedIn account shortly.

🌍 We have decided to leave Twitter/X. While this has been valuable in the past, and we have had some great interactions and met some incredible people and groups, we feel the platform no longer aligns with our mission to support equity, diversity, and inclusion in geosciences.

First, we wanted to share which social media platforms we will be using (and so can be contacted on) and which ones we won't be using.
