Surprisingly solid Tory performance…

Not sure with the Cotswolds if it was a pact or just no local candidate at the prior election.

Oxfordshire councils and Richmond certainly had the pact, but further afield I’m less sure.

Harborough seems to be a LD meltdown over last year. Bad results in LEs on a generally excellent night, and two otherwise rare byelection losses since then too.

Labour went from 1st to 4th.

Oof - Lab from 1st to 4th!

13 vote majority. Unlucky for many…

This is the third recent by-election for this council - In all 3 Reform came first and LD second.

Oh I have indeed… many a Sunday lunch in The Railway when I was a kid - bit pricer these days though…

Best Tory result in quite a while… Greens would have been thought a shoe-in with current polling, no Lab or LD standing, and Reform standing for first time to dent the Blues.

Either a terrible Green campaign or unusually good Tory one?

They’ve done that plenty of times recently… 🤷‍♂️

Surprisingly good result for Labour and first hold all month!

15 by-elections in Nov so far. Not one Lab or Con win. Labour hasn’t done better than third even in wards where they were the incumbent.

First successful Localist defence in a by-election since May. All the others were wiped out.
November 7, 2025 at 9:12 PM
A rare Reform-free by-election these days.

LD gain - 2 ward seat and while LD topped seat in locals, this was the Lab seat being defended…
