My Skill Development Public Journal: Personal Project in Investment

This post is intended to share my journey and self-development through my personal project. This might not always be in chronological order and might reflect an unspecified past.
I start my 2026 with continuing my learning progress.

Then, I got insight that Mathematical Methods for Quantitative Finance is really such a math challenge.

I think I am interested in learning engineering deeper. Especially in AI, my first 5 years of professional experience.
But definitely I will learn finance for the sake of general skillsets and personal aspiration.

I am very excited to work with AI products in professional settings. It helps me develop skills that really solve problems demanded by the market.
It is clear that my personal projects like AI and design patterns skills are deemed extremely useful. I can’t appreciate enough the time I spare here.

Learning the Fundamentals of Modern Finance has truly humbled me, revealing the intricacies of the financial world.
My previous naïve assumptions of how finance works have been more accurately aligned with reality. This is something that I appreciate from the rigorous learning process I endure.

GPT-5 is really nice for software development, though. It helps me brainstorm and design my project better.

Writing codes might not be its best capabilities yet (Claude and Gemini still own the throne), but it helps design and discuss higher-level abstractions better than others.

I’ve finally reached the second phase of my cutting program.
I’ve been consuming high-protein, low-calorie food. Maintaining my hunger and emotions during this challenging week has been a real test.
By this adaptation week, I am mentally prepared for the rest of the program for the next 3-4 months.

Quitting programming as a career right now because of LLMs would be like quitting carpentry as a career thanks to the invention of the table saw.

It seems like I have to give focus to developing my trapezius muscle. Starting from intermediate strength to advanced strength.

I moved to a new gym, and I am currently happy with the atmosphere.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

A poorly designed program and code are truly painful to work and develop with.
End users only care about usability, unaware of the ticking time bomb that previous developers have already introduced.

How GitHub evolved from a Rails monolith, embraced remote work, why it hires more junior devs than ever before, and how GH Copilot was built thanks to a happy accident. With GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke:

Working on my personal project is like a therapy session for me. It’s so much more than just exploring and communicating - it’s also meaningful because it’s my own thing. It’s like letting my imagination run wild, just like when I’m doing arts or sports.

Using a webscrapper to get some OHLCV is really a pain in the ass.
I decided to add more API-based data sources for reliability justification.

Lucky that there are many data source alternatives.

A month back, I made a silly mistake in my strategy execution, but luckily, I got a chance to fix and tweak it to my strategy.

It’s been a huge relief from the stress and strain I’ve been feeling lately.

This personal project is more like my gym routine: a personal experience and journey. There is nothing to be stressed out about, and I should just enjoy the progress of it. Step by step, and no need to rush. Just make sure I make a micro step, and it is just enough.

I recently went through some code refactoring, which can be a real pain when you make poor design choices and have to make adjustments before it’s too late. But hey, it’s also a great learning experience!

I need to define what are things I need to access through my backend API.
Also, what are things don’t need API.
