I think the error dull minds who run companies such as the type we are talking about assume if something works now it'll always work. So you end up with cookie cutter films in a variety of ouvres, and television shows which run for seven series when they should stop at 2 and have a classic.

I am stunned by the poor quality of films with, movement for movement, the same plot. Escape Room was basically The Cube. which was a mutation of another film I can't remember and am grateful for.

As someone who has sporadically used Netflix I can say the quality of material has fallen through the floor. Cookie cutter plots of films, poor imitations of previous strands, the ever present 'Oi, that's not you' interruptions with the tedious accent on the mundane. I've better things to do.
