Starmer should push for a public apology here. As well as the 457 killed, a few thousand were badly injured physically and mentally. This draft dodging moron should be made to meet them next time he's this side of the pond.

Because if your company paid you in shares the government would take 40% in tax or whatever your nominal rate was. It's the future gain that would not be (would be subject to capital gains).

Why have you not taken this down or corrected it? In this case your assertion is wrong.

Yes, I can't quite understand why they think they need so much. It has been ever thus, humans are strange. It's not a great argument but if they didn't exploit their customers someone else would. I would like it not to be so.

And don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of the gambling industry and have always turned down work if it involves any of the players.

But who are you to judge? If the business is acting in accordance with the law and within the guidelines of the gambling industry and she is, clearly actively, not avoiding tax, she is doing nothing wrong legally or morally in my view. Take it up with Starmer or Reeves, Everything else is just envy.

Yes, but at least she takes it as a salary and not in more tax efficient vehicles. You can call it greed but she owns the company and built its online operating model. If you do that and treat employees well, which apparently they do, and pay all your taxes you can take what you like.

See so many posts that start 'when this is over'. They don't intend to be removed, certainly not by fair means. Concentrate on how you'll remove them first, consequences for collaboration can come later.

She doesn't seem very familiar with the parable of the good Samaritan, does she?

Landlords already pay tax on profits and if you want to stop investment and innovation in new companies have a tax on revenue instead/as well as profit.

Regardless of what you think about the sector and quantum of the reward, at least she pays income tax on all that, it's not given to her in dividends or pension contributions or some other mechanism to minimise the tax she pays.
