trying this out as a commonplace book
Also shows how pavement creates its own microclimates. I missed this bulb when removing a garden bed to install the reclaimed asphalt path, and it managed to fight its way up between the pieces. It has dozens of siblings around the garden, but none of them are even budding yet, except this weirdo.

it's gotta be some kind of genetic engineering to get them to make the fresh-off-the-vine chemicals despite having been shipped and refrigerated, but i am here for it. Not sure how they're selling them for under $3/lb but i am not complaining.

also if a summary of how theretowhere could be used for evil would amuse or interest you, i'd be happy to share in a less public place (can't chat you on bsky due to your settings)

here's a demo with the SF area airports!

when you show locations in the autocomplete, it'd be super helpful to put the city and state as well as the distance and what road they're on -- would make things much easier when examining distant locations or not sharing one's own location with the site :)

it works! very pretty!

did you also change up the location autocomplete? in the old version, i'd type an airport code like sfo and the airport would be the first hit, whereas now the codes are giving a bunch of non-airport things that happen to have the airport as a substring

Funny how we say "built" when we mean "designed" in that context.

Maybe it ties into broader cultural distinctions between the roles and value of the carpenters vs the architects?
