Overall Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an experience like no other. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry and it will make you appreciate just how amazing video games can truly be. It’s a masterpiece that will be very hard to top and I cannot wait to see how the story ends in Part 3! (13/13)

There is so much to love about this game and I’ve enjoyed taking screenshots in the photo mode more than ever! In fact all the posts featured in this thread were all taken by me in Photo Mode during my Rebirth playthrough! (12/13)

There are so many iconic moments it’s hard to list them all but here’s a select few, Rufus’s inauguration parade, Queen’s Blood tournament on the Shinra-8, Costa Del Sol sunset, GOLD SAUCER, Gongaga reactor, River of Lights in Cosmo Canyon, Loveless Play and Skywheel Date. (11/13)

Also the music. OMG THE MUSIC! This game’s soundtrack is utterly GOD TIER. There so many genres and so many different styles all crammed into one game! From orchestral music to country, hip hop RnB to Rock, Jazz to Lo-Fi chill beats, Tekken grunge to J-Pop! This game’s soundtrack has it all! (10/13)

The combat system which was excellent in Remake has been refined and perfected in Rebirth! Synergy Skills and Synergy Abilities add so much more to combat scenarios and give you new unique ways to do team up attacks with your party that can aid you in different ways! (9/13)

Speaking of minigames, this game is full of them! From dolphin shows to parade formations, piano recitals to G-bike, chocobo racing to moogle roundups and so much more! This game has the most minigames I’ve ever played and each one is so much fun! (8/13)

My favourite side quest is Absence of a Sign. What could be better than going on a star gazing photography trip around Cosmo Canyon with Aerith! 📸✨ (7/13)

In terms of the open world, there is so much to see and do. From doing odd jobs for Chadley, helping out the residents of the world with side quests or taking in a match (or two!) of the most addictive minigame, Queen’s Blood, there’s always a new secret to discover in every nook and cranny. (6/13)

But of course I’m forgetting someone special. @itsbrianawhite.bsky.social Aerith Gainsborough. FFVII Rebirth was Aerith’s game and it shows. Briana’s performance in this game was like nothing I’d ever seen before. She made me laugh, she made me cry and she made me fall in love with Aerith. (5/13)

The characters are on point. Special thanks to the voice cast! @codychristian.bsky.social, @brittbaron.bsky.social, @suzieyeung.bsky.social, @maxmittelman.bsky.social, @paultinto.bsky.social, @matthewmercer.bsky.social, John Eric Bentley and J.Michael Tatum you all did such great work! (4/13)

In terms of the story, it’s a timeless classic retold for a new generation to experience. Everything has its own little moment to shine. There’s some slight alterations and changes, this is a remake after all, but they’re nothing too major and a pleasant update to the story for a modern age. (3/13)

This game truly is a masterpiece. From the first moment of the prologue, this game sucked me in like nothing else and took over my entire year. I loved Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth is a continuation of the story that was well worth the wait! #FinalFantasy

As for No 1… that’s getting an entire thread all to itself! 11/11

2. Astro Bot

The most creative and innovative experience I’ve played in a long time. Team Asobi crafted a very special game celebrating 30 years of PlayStation history, made with so much passion, care and joy, you can’t help smiling the whole way through! It’s endlessly charming! 10/11

3. Thank Goodness You’re Here!

My favourite indie game of 2024! @coalsupper.bsky.social created something special featuring tons of British humour and amazing animation! It’s the funniest game I’ve ever played! Plus Matt Berry is in it! What’s not to love! Reggie’s wife could learn something! 9/11

4. Life is Strange Double Exposure

@decknine.bsky.social brought back Max Caulfield and I was so glad to see her again! This murder mystery had me intrigued through every twist and turn. The ending left a lot to be desired for me but I have faith that wherever deck nine goes, I’ll be there. 8/11

5. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

@focus-entmt.com and @dontnod.bsky.social created a choice based, action RPG set in 1800s America that was a creepy witchcraft adventure for the ages. Red and Antea made for a great team/couple however I found the combat was a bit fiddly to get to grips with. 7/11

6. Harold Halibut

@slowbros.bsky.social created a masterful hand crafted experience that’s unlike anything I’ve played. A wholesome point and click story featuring quirky characters, wonderful environments and some excellent humour to boot! However I do think it lasts a little bit too long. 6/11

7. The Star Named EOS

A wonderful photography puzzle game from Silver Lining Studio and @playismen.bsky.social featuring an emotional story, wonderful voice acting from @suzieyeung.bsky.social and a beautiful art style as well. It’s a short but sweet experience that’s perfect to relax with. 5/11
