Ok so piloting all done or not even used, however now I want to deploy him as a ground unit as his epic action. This is still a one time use for the whole game right?

However, if he’s defeated from the ground unit (epic action), the next phase can I still pay the 1 cost to flip and attach as pilot?

Alright so basically all the usual shenanigans will affect attached Poe. That’s interesting. If I’ve used the 1 resource to attach him already then I’ll have to wait till next phase or defeat the unit.

I assume the epic action is still a one time use regardless, despite him still able to jump as a pilot from vehicle to vehicle after using the epic action?

Just to confirm with the same card. My friend and I are debating on this... who keeps the defeated card as I've always returned it to the controller. He on the other hand is adamant as we're reading the card 'control the unit, defeat it' as it goes into his discard pile rather than back to me

To add a question to this... yes you control the unit for the split second. Do you also get to attack with Snoke for the split second or is the strategy for using what's on the text before defeat?

e.g. good for this -2:-2, when defeated effects etc.

Does any of the 2 cost cards you discard to play, stay on the board or get discarded end of the phase?
