All we can do is look ahead and see if we can do better. As a 'definitely not spring chicken anymore' my saturday evenings are usually pretty open. So maybe that's a good starting point to try again. early aft sat bson, and early sunday mornin for you? Maybe sat next week (feb7)?

It's also cool for me to check which games are there, i think i know most and have already tried them. But not all. But ugh i should really stay focus and try to clear some backlog, instead of hopping over to a new game every 5 mins...

It's weird but the content creator matters. Shmupjunkie and Thorgi vids and some DF retro i stay glued to the screen no matter how long it is. For Electric underground, some vids hit me like that as well, others i find myself zoning out. Maybe it's more geared to entertainment vs really deep diving

love the cover art.....and man i really need to play metriod. I usually prefer to play by order of release, but should really just at least put a few hours into super metroid.

Anyways curious how this ends up! It also my biggest annoyance over preferring to play on pad, no space for art 🤣

Love the idea, but maybe it's my semi ocd vibes. But don't like the art getting holes for buttons/stick. I think i would try some either generic color scheme thing there, or maybe one larger gfx. Maybe a explosion (as a truxton fan that would def work for me) or so? Also gotta love the Gaiares dude!

I never got into them. Had it on amiga but maybe a bas copy? Actually played it a bit recently with the old genesis core which has turbo. I think i also saw a improvement patch on df retro, been meaning to try that.

Yeah tricky planning these things, especially when we're in 4 different time zones! Though i guess uk/cet could be counted as one vs the other way larger differences :D

So it this Choplifter from 'bitd' or a new one made to make use of the plus features of these new 2600/7800 machines?
January 28, 2026 at 8:27 AM
Not atari2600, or maybe a modern release with a bunch, a BIG bunch of helper chips :D
January 27, 2026 at 12:27 PM
Was actually my first Amiga game, a budget release, as a full game a got 'F19 stealth fighter'. Of course had some friends who owned miga, so 'some' more games follow rather quickly.....

Try it on the amiga though, lovely intro music! Gameplay was pretty good too in my memory at least.

Actually really loved part 2 on pc. Didn’t like the underground of 3. But i think generally 3 is the best regarded.
January 26, 2026 at 6:04 PM
I do love amiga vision which is by the same team if i am not mistaken. Currenty i got converted tapes, disks, carts and 'prg' for C64 games, looking for stuff is tricky often.

And the amiga had support for mt32 as well right? I seem to recall reading about it for mister and the pi mt32
January 25, 2026 at 8:15 PM
Yeah but i heard mention of a sound card! Figured it was like a pc!
January 25, 2026 at 11:22 AM
Any comparisons of st soundcard games vs amiga (or other consoles/pc?)
January 25, 2026 at 5:11 AM
Easy. Install fightcade. That has an emulator so no need to install anything by hand. Than add roms you wanna play. The site is clear on what version. Done. And that last step even has options to make it easier.

I know in the early days the ST was often the lead dev platform. Still don’t know of many games actually better on the ST.
