A single exposure (note unbroken trail above). This looks like a tumbling satellite - you caught about one-and-a-third 'tumbles' or flares 🧪🔭

These diagrams have Mars in the correct position on both nights - note how it moves relative to the fixed stars. 🧪🔭

The diagram assumes Mars doesn't move - but it will move gradually upwards - the import thing to look at is the comet in relation to the fixed stars, particularly Spica 🧪🔭
