So, lesson is, if you’re renting a cabin in the woods, don’t dispose of your fireplace ashes in the underbrush on a windy day (or any day)!

We saw smoke and flames coming from behind the rental cabin across the street from us. My spouse ran over with a fire extinguisher and I followed with a second. Between those and a water hose, the flames were out before the fire responder arrived (~30 min after call). Anyway, my spouse is a badass.

We’ll see if digital notes work for me, but here’s what I’m starting with. I may switch to a paper and pen version. I plan to experiment with this one this year.
