I don’t post food pics very often, but I think the lunch I made for myself today is worth a photo. Celebrate the little things when you can.

I probably won’t get to all of these, but these are just some of the new albums out today that interest me. What am I missing?

I was taking out the trash at work when I looked up and saw this bulbous beauty. #bird #photo

It’s not the inches of snow they forecast, but it’s very very cold and beautiful.

Finished this. What I thought were colored markers turned out to be paint pens, but I like how it turned out.

This list will grow, I’m sure, but here are a few of the new albums I want to hear this week.

There’s so much going on that needs our attention, and sometimes listening to music feels like an unforgivable indulgence, but it’s what’s keeping me breathing right now. Here are the 12 albums I listened to the most last week. I especially liked revisiting @illingsworks.bandcamp.com’s 2016 album.

So, lesson is, if you’re renting a cabin in the woods, don’t dispose of your fireplace ashes in the underbrush on a windy day (or any day)!

We saw smoke and flames coming from behind the rental cabin across the street from us. My spouse ran over with a fire extinguisher and I followed with a second. Between those and a water hose, the flames were out before the fire responder arrived (~30 min after call). Anyway, my spouse is a badass.

My mother is moving out of her art studio this month, a bittersweet transition. Being in there is like seeing inside her mind in a way I’ve always loved.

Ok. I’m doing this.

Look at you, getting out of bed.
It wasn’t easy, but you did it.
Now you will face the day,
and you will do what you can.

It might not go well.
You might not survive.
But you’ve made it this far,
and that matters. That counts.

It’s sort of funny how this 4 seconds of animation took me several evenings to draw. It’s a study of rolling dough. I don’t usually do color, but I like it here.

We’ll see if digital notes work for me, but here’s what I’m starting with. I may switch to a paper and pen version. I plan to experiment with this one this year.
