lol I didn't realise that this was part of the larger Discourse™️ -- had just signed-up for bluesky and hadn't been on twitter for weeks and yours was one of the first posts I saw here. I am now (unfortunately) caught up.

Curious what the disincentives are. Is it the incentive to be "novel"? My narrow view of (my corner of) political science is that there are incentives to borrow from other disciplines and demonstrate theoretical breadth with new applications.
