Hello, new friends! It’s lovely to be a part of the blossoming #art community that’s springing up over here. I am a big animal fanatic, and tend to dwell in a realm somewhere between storybook and biological #illustration 💚
I am having to lift weights as part of the fitness plan I signed up for and like, I don’t have any vested interest in weightlifting but I suddenly think it would be fun to use a giant pumpkin in place of a kettle bell

Books that are over 800 pages long should come with a free PDF copy when you buy the physical copy, because they are way too heavy and big to be lugging around every day!!!!!

Update: It was REALLY GOOD and I am VERY HAPPY! It's kind of fun to experiment and muck about with whole wheat flour.
(I added cinnamon and cardamom to the crust recipe to help cut down on the whole-wheatiness)

The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

She is in an alleyway, where a dozen people are huddled around a row of bulletin boards.
They are reading the job ads on the board, while examining the stitching on a pair of chinos draped over it.
This is Shein's supply chain. The factories are contracted to make clothes on order - some small, some big. If the chinos are a hit, orders will ramp up and so must production. Factories then hire temporary workers to meet the demand their permanent staff cannot fulfil.
The migrant worker from Jiangxi is looking for a short-term contract - and the chinos are an option.
"We earn so little. The cost of living is now so high," she says, adding that she hopes to make enough to send back to her two children who are living with their grandparents.
"We get paid per piece," she explains. "It depends how difficult the item is. The year is ending soon and I have made almost 0 pieces of art; I’m not too sad because I was doing some unexpectedly cool stuff day-job wise, but I would like to try and refocus on my abandoned illustration projects soon because I miss them.
(Mainly, my poor, neglected Aesop project 😭…)
