...and even to have people unexpectedly remember my name when we meet again.

It gives running a deeper purpose, beyond the pursuit of speed of distance.

I feel grateful to have integrated so deeply into the running community.

Today, I paced my 20th race. While twenty may not be a remarkable milestone, it is enough to keep seeing the same familiar faces at local runs across Bavaria...

Munich, the place where you can buy a house for over a million € that:

- Needs absolute renovation
- It is far away from any urban centre
- Includes a Wohnrecht (somebody will stay in the house without paying any rent until they die, but you have to carry all the maintenance costs).

I am assuming stable too. Alpha or Beta is a different story. I would generally do not consider keeping any project on the latest non-stable version.

On the other hand, staying on older versions accumulates technical debt that, like any debt, needs to be paid with interests.

I generally found a good trade-off to establish some period (which depends on many factors) to update and carry out necessary migrations, ideally without waiting too long.

Hello friends,

Do I know any developers in my network who are using ExoPlayer APIs in their current project, ideally in depth, like developing custom components? Ping me!

Are there any fandom runs planned during @droidcon.bsky.social Berlin this year?

I’d be glad to join, either early in the morning before the conference starts or right after the last session on Thursday.

A pair of Nike Zoom Pegasus that is about 5 years old and is still holding up 😀, despite a couple of holes. I believe it can last another 5 years, maybe 10 if I am not very picky.

They have been the shoes I have been using for a few years now.

You certainly run faster with them, if you can tolerate.

- The price.
- Their fragility.
- Their discomfort.

I use them only for races, not for training

I will be pacing the Munich Marathon on October 12th and just received a really nice surprise from the organizers: a pair of Brooks Hyperion Max. A European brand would have been even better, but I really appreciate the gift.

There is no cure for ego, such as finishing an ultra and watching the top finisher's time.

Mind if I ask which dietary changes you have started that you didn't apply before?
eenriquelopez.bsky.social
Are you just loosing weight by focusing on diet?

I was never able to do it. The only two things that worked for me are very intense sport periods and intermittent fasting.

I finished my first 100K. I am glad everything work out, and I can join the 100K club. Worried about the remaining club, the 100 miles.

It was painful and very very hard, but everything happened as I expected.

Tomorrow I am attempting to run for the first time a 100K ultra. The organization gave a nice temporary tattoo with the race profile.
