Hopefully not, but I don't think I'd be alive and more or less in the same shape as 3 decades ago. Sleep is really weird though, my guess is in my case my neurotransmitters are all kinds of borked and there's probably something wrong with my hypothalamus and/or pineal gland (that runs in the family)

Yeah, thank fuck they're not more efficient at spreading. But they're so hard to destroy and it really weirds me out that you don't even have to catch them through transmission, a random normal protein in my brain could just accidentally go wonky on any given day and I'd be done for 😨

In any case the doctors have tried everything that narcoleptic patients would be treated with and nothing helped. So I just have to hope I don't die in a house fire I started by cooking in my sleep or something. And I only play videogames where I can't fuck up the whole playthrough by sleep-gaming.

This has been a rant brought to you by the fact that after 3 decades my sleep disorder still has no name and there has never been a treatment plan that actually worked. It's not officially narcolepsy because my EEGs were "too weird to interpret" and spinal tap results were inconclusive. 🤷

I've had to check my call log after a nap, in case there's activity I don't remember. I'll then have to call those people back and ask what we discussed because they might be completely unaware they were talking to a sleeping person. I might not have seemed off at all, even my mom can't always tell.
