He's trolling me by playing "grocery shopping" twice a day, so I'm constantly "ringing up" plastic produce. And he spent 30 minutes making a pretend salad for his grandma.

Leaving Volcanoes, my favorite national park. Didn't get to see any lava fountaining, but did see the milky way and a rainbow!

Not an update, but I am trying to figure out what to plant to replace the gravel around the stepping stones! It's a *river* during rainfall thanks to the surrounding properties and part shade the rest of the time.

(Yes the cat is supervised and also far too large to escape the fence.)

Tonight it's cellini bean soup from this cult fave, plus the rye soda bread recipe by Heidi Swanson (above).

Book cover on this is excellent. The font and color choices convey that Beans Are Fun!, which really reflects the Rancho Gordo brand.

Excited to be revisiting this cookbook, every recipe is simple but has something unexpected to make things memorable! Tonight it's the cauliflower soup - the not-so-secret ingredient is Dijon mustard for some nutty earthiness.

Book cover is meh.

Today was shoyu chicken from this touristy thing. Subbed gochujang for five spice. Simple and tasty!

I kind of love this cover - bold to go for a landscape pic instead of a food pic on a cookbook! It's also so-bad-it's-good in font and other design choices.

My 2025 resolution was to use more of my cookbooks, so tonight is the patatas al campo from Vegetables Unleashed.

Note: this book cover is so, so terrible.

SpiceKraft Thanksgiving was fantastic! Faves were the turkey biryani and cranberry lassi. Turkey roulade was a great take on turkey and gravy. Pie pic coming post-nap.
