The whole essay is premised on the idea that if Trump calls something a success then it is. The author thinks the Gaza ceasefire is going great, the Ukraine/Russia negotiations are sure to yield results, and (I couldn't so this last is an assumption) Venezuela is likely to be "free" any day now.

I read that and it sounds like Tom was always shallow and selfish to some extent, but was willing to subsume that part of him for love. He just got annoyed when she called him out on it and threw back BS. She had a paradigm shift and no longer wanted to be with shallow, selfish Tom.

I'm radicalized. The hate I have for these science deniers is at a level that I never would have imagined 10 years ago. Not even 5 years ago during the height of COVID would I have thought I could be this angry all the time because I thought reason would continue to have the upper hand.

I wish there was a way to start talking to the bros and the incels and letting them know the anarchy and fear that would result if Dems win TN-07. The "for the LOLs" crowd would come out in force. Not even 10% joking.
