They should've given them all odd numbers of fingers or three arms or placed one floating mid-air off the beam, plagiarized throughout the issue, and then charged $80 for every copy while demanding educators use the magazine in lessons and military leaders use it to create planning from flawed data.

I might include books on: quilts of Gee's Bend; common poisons in 19th c wallpaper; intersection of manufacturing of interior components & emerging factory safety movement (might be early 20thC though re: lead in enameled fixtures like tubs); textile production & abolitionist movement; & so on.

The point is, if you're in the U.S., it takes intentionality to follow what's happening around the world -

especially after PBS & NPR cuts, especially amid rigged search algorithms & problematic AI search results.

Thankfully, you can still follow leaders like Dr. Okonjo-Iweala directly. 😁

And every time someone tosses an economic hand grenade like erratic tariffs into world trade, or complains about European leaders being "weak" -

who's head of WTO right now? (also published on fighting corruption)

What are current roles of Roberta Metsola, Kaja Kallas, Ursula von der Leyen?

Every time someone complains about US membership in UN or our relationship w/ICC:

Dr. McLeod Bethune & E. Roosevelt were at UN founding conf; Dr. Esther Brunauer worked at State Dept on UN, when forced out by McCarthy; E. Roosevelt was elected head of UN comm that drafted dec. of human rights.

If a govt dept/agency has been gutted, women likely pushed for, implemented, or led it 80-120 yrs ago.

More women were civil servants by 1950s than a lot of people realized & were disproportionately affected by McCarthyism. By the 70s, McCarthy's asst was a lawyer for...a NYC real estate family.

We used to have Florence Kelley.

And a lot of women who came after.

Consumer protection, early NIH, maternal + infant nutrition, VA hospitals, pre-OSHA factory/mine/worker safety, public sanitation, safe milk, union rights, child labor restrictions, education, public health, food safety...

women.

Fun fact: one of the suffragists who sued?

Catholic Dorothy Day.
December 10, 2025 at 6:05 PM
Many of whom went on to push for prison reform and improved conditions after their firsthand experience.

I want to know: did those suffragists win damages for mistreatment experienced under unlawful arrest, under supervision of those two superintendents?

Also: could that be a class action?
December 10, 2025 at 6:05 PM
While in Occoquan, women weren't given adequate water or nutrition; endured physical assaults/injury, sometimes sol confinement; were force fed on hunger strike; didn't have adequate sanitation or hygiene facilities; outside comms restricted.

These were well-connected upper-class white women.
December 10, 2025 at 6:05 PM
Also related: a fed judge decided their transfer from DC jail to Occoquan flouted habeas and ordered at least some back to DC jail.

Part of why suffragists sued for damages - argued superintendents of DC jail & Occoquan accountable for prisoner treatment while in positions, even if later dismissed.
December 10, 2025 at 6:05 PM
Related: an appeals court declared suffragist arrests had been unlawful,

and the superintendents of the DC jail & Occoquan workhouse were both let go.

But suffragists sustained injuries from ill treatment received because of unlawful arrests.

Either individuals belonging to NWP sued, or NWP sued.

Whoa AND wow.

Best guess, a kid slid ducks into an EMT parent pocket and parent didn't notice and they fell out.

Not that I've ever wondered why my purse was heavy only to discover rocks in it.

Rocks.

I was carrying around rocks.

Someone asks what it is, just say powerful air purifier or air filter. Don't argue about viruses, just clean the dang air. Everyone will benefit.
