وُلدت في كوم حمادة، محافظة البحيرة. اكتشفها جامع التراث الموسيقي زكريا الحجاوي. تزوجا عام 1961، ثم انفصلا عام 1963. اشتهرت بقصة "أيوب وناعسة" التي غنتها مع الفنانة فاطمة عيد، وكتب كلماتها زكريا الحجاوي.

Khedra was an Egyptian folk singer and one of the most famous artists of Egyptian folklore. She was born in Kom Hamada, Beheira Governorate. She was discovered by the musical heritage collector Zakaria El-Hagawy. The two married in 1961 but divorced in 1963.
