Self publish, they say. More control! More profit!

Also you have to spend a lot of time marketing, self-promoting and stepping out of your shell to extravert.

On an unrelated note, Mimic is out now.

Another year begins, another mandatory reading of this. It's all so very easy when you put the others aside. #poetry #newyear #smallpleasures

With Gatsby in full swing last night at Mara-stupid, that's not good.

There's something giving #ClaireNorth about this convergence.

I've always had a theory that history is built on cycles, with events all having their same cycle. For example, wars happen on a 20 year cycle and an economic depression occurs on a ~100 year cycle. And when those converge once every 5 cycles, catastrophe strikes.

Is there a term for thinking about where your story should go, planning it out in your head, and then sitting down to write it out and literally freezing whilst staring at the screen?

Because I have that.

From my congressman's weekly letter. AI or just bad editing?

He's not a much better congressman.

I just can't handle the constant hypocrisy. It's so... Exhausting.

The local bookstore finally got a copy of "Old Man's War" by @scalzi.com. Looking forward to settling into the hype.

I asked copilot to give me a summary of my own book. Sounds fun! You should buy it!

Mimic by J. Scott Ehlert deserves a spotlight—it’s a richly layered historical thriller with gothic undertones, eerie suspense, and a touch of psychological horror.

I just realized that Literary Agents represent the story, not the author. The author is just the story's manager, nothing more.

Whoo hoo! Part 1 of my next novel has been written and rough edited. Off to my beta reader for validation. 12k words done, ~70k to go.

One of my challenges is revealing something I wrote to my extended friends and family. I can never really know if their review is heartfelt or just because "they know me." Reviews like this perfectly capture exactly what I think about the experience and helps my self-doubt. #writingcommunity
