Yeah I mean ... as a left-of-center progressive type of person in the US, my honest read is that every principle the right wing professed to hold for the last 20 years (aka my entire adult voting life) has been a lie and that they will happily violate any principle if it hurts a liberal/'s feelings

Historically that rhetoric has come from right wing people, and it's turning out that they are perfectly fine with a tyrant brutalizing left-leaning populations
