Seeing all the Trump defenders today… maybe you DON’T get the benefit of doubt when:
- your first foray into politics was accusing Obama of not being American
- you’ve told non-white Reps to go back to their countries
- you’ve made trolling, transgressive behaviour your whole identity.

Besides being totally disinterested in the subject, I couldn’t watch “Melania” because it feels like a drug deal on the part of Bezos, et al. On top of rehabbing the career of a Director with so many sexual assault allegations against him. What ISN’T gross about this movie?

My heart sinks for normies in the US. Let’s take a charitable view of these two awful deaths, that things escalated quickly, there was a fast reaction to fear in the moment, or whatever… There’s no reasonable explanation for the gov RACING to instantly malign the dead as domestic terrorists.

One of the frustrating things within 🇨🇦 is the “if Carney just did X or Y…” crowd. They need to understand that this isn’t about anything economic or security related. It’s one malignant narcissist’s need to put on a dominance display. The tariffs & the harm ARE the ends.

Just like some of the reaction to Carney’s approach to trade partnerships, the too-cools will scoff at this because “Trump will be gone in 3 years.” Let’s assume that the case. Let’s even assume that the next POTUS is Reagan 2.0. But from now on, it’s always one election away from the next Trump.

Loved this run, have the omnibus. But one aspect always bothered me: Thor just assuming Jake Olsen’s life, unbeknownst to others who might care that Jake’s actually dead. Kinda funny that eventual the solution was that “it turns out Jake was a criminal scumbag, so it doesn’t matter.”

I’d appreciate the sentimentality more if I hadn’t just shovelled a 9” snowfall up in Ottawa.

As the father of an 8 year old, I instantly recognize Trump’s childlike view of “winning”, except my kid already got over that a couple years ago. This is an 80 year old who people elected President.

Thank you for writing, Jay. I’m Canadian and in my mid-40s. I’ve disagreed with various admins on different issues (including 🇨🇦 trade issues in some sectors) but always pushed back against that “ugly American” characterization & appreciated the overall good in the ledger. Very, very hard to do now.

The administration hasn’t even tried to explain how or why the administration existing arrangement (in place throughout the Cold War) is inadequate.
