Solitude here is not an isolation but a space for thoughts and calmness, and the nature is not only a background but a companion. I tried to depict my own journey of finding the place to be, my perception of getting to know this world, and I hope that you will also find something unique here.

Highlands Solitude is about, well, solitude in the first place. It's a personal perspective on how one feels and finds oneself in this world. It's about connection - or disconnection - with the world.

I was deeply inspired by its untouched nature, landscapes and mountains, and during that time, I discovered another inspiration of mine - Albert Bertelsen, a Danish artist. His depiction of the nordic nature left quite an impression, and I started studying his artworks.

I started this series quite unconsciously around 5 years ago but it was shaped into something you see now only after my second trip to Iceland that I did last year.

I tried to submerge the viewer in my own unhinged universe without proper context, and it resulted in... silence, or a very little response. That's why I decided to shed some light on this series.
