A fun information barbell strategy I've been adopting recently:

However much time I have for consuming information leisurely (podcasts, books, X, newsletters, etc.), I consume a 3:2 ratio of super live, recent information vs old, invariant, timeless classics

NVIDIA is on a tightrope over the next 5Y

Release Reuben GPUs -> If electricity production & if Reuben better perf/$, accelerate depreciation on current gen GPUs -> mess up GPU-collaterals -> unwind these "GPU loans"

Reuben too bad perf/$, no one buys & NVIDIA stock tanks

"CDC released a report saying deaths from crashes in 2022 in US led to $470B costs in a year incl medical costs and cost estimates for lives lost

Waymo can reduce crashes by 10x -> $420B in cost savings, which is more in revenue than Google does"

Introducing OpenEdison by @edison_watch, the AI Agent Firewall

Agents + Tools/MCP = Data leak risk

OpenEdison is an OSS firewall that deterministically blocks data exfiltration & dangerous agent action, even if jailbroken.

👇 comment your MCP use, I'll dm how risky your use is

Github: SoR for Code
ERP: SoR for biz resources
CRM: SoR for customer relationships
ITSM: SoR for communication

What are some other SoR missing? Some that come into mind are marketing, vertical app specific (e.g. supply chains) and more

I wish for software that dynamically updates prompts based on Slack conversations. We use a master Google Doc for our conversation guidelines and product positioning for Claude. Ideally, this Doc would update in real-time from Slack talks, with a bot suggesting wording changes.

Has anyone seriously considered creating a "Cursor for writing" product?

People have made AI excel - @shortcut @TracelightAI
People have made AI slides - @MeetGamma

Where is "cursor for writing"? So much possible with this class of apps right now. DM if you want feedback

There was a really fun story about how some business consultants told a premium hotel to layoff the doormen who opened the hotel doors to improve margins

But then customer satisfaction felloff, revenues down, and realised the doormen were a crucial part of the experience

"The $1T Opportunity to Build the Next Amazon in Retail" by
@Konstantine is incredibly written

On-demand (e.g. Uber Eats) vs consultative shopping, MCPs for standardisation, Predictive Shipping, robot roaming stores, IoT-smart home proactive purchases, so much more

AI apps are context hungry, Google has all the context

- Gsuite: cal, gmail,
- Chrome: Browser use data & metrics
- Drive, photos

Only credible competitor with equally as much context is
- WeChat
- MSFT
- Meta

Still somehow underrated

AlphaGo solved depths in one field
GPT-4 solved breadth in multiple fields
o3/GPT-5 solved breadth + depth in multiple fields

And yet everything seems underwhealming.... Why?

Imo we're now continual learning/context bottlenecked to update for new information

Biggest indicator of intelligence: Questions they ask.

Tight questions is 80% of the battle. Laser precise questions tell me everything I need to know about someone's competence.

Instant differentiation from mediocre high-level questions.
