Islington Assembly Hall is such a fab relaxed venue. Tonight we saw Jake Kiszka and Mirador (support band was Lady of Mars). Fantastic evening.

I’ve enjoyed all the #snailposting these past couple of days. Very cute. Here’s mine.

The Fast Show Live this evening at the Cambridge Corn Exchange was a lot of fun. Nostalgia, silliness and an insane number of classic characters and catchphrases. Niiiiice.

Great poses from our amazing model at last night’s life drawing session. I go every Wedneday evening and I believe I’m getting better at it.

There are some surprisingly cool things to see at this little exhibition at Moyse’s Museum in Bury St Edmunds! Props, models & memorabilia from Indiana Jones, Star Wars, James Bond, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, The Crown, Blade Runner, Batman, & Jaws. My favourite was the vial of Quint’s blood.

I’ve just finished “The Reformatory” by @tananarivedue.bsky.social, a novel about the horror of racial injustice in Jim Crow Florida. The writing is incredibly immersive, the characters beautifully developed. By the final act, the stakes were so high that I could hardly breathe till I finished it.

Been doing some portrait practice in gouache. Since we’re 2/3 of the way through a rewatch of one of my favourite TV series ever, Penny Dreadful, I thought I’d have a go at painting Vanessa Ives.

Today I was in the room where it happens! The Victoria Palace is a gorgeous theatre and Hamilton is a very impressive show. Loved it.

Saw “The Wicker Man” on the big screen tonight, thanks to Ely Community Cinema. With each rewatch of this masterpiece, I find Sergeant Howie’s increasing frustration with the islanders more comedic, and that ending (the most upsetting in horror cinema, for my money) ever more devastating. #HorrorSky

Very much enjoyed “Le Vourdalak”, from the 1970s euro-horror effect of the soft film grain to the use of a puppet, which gave things a proper old-fashioned fairytale feel. It’s not “scary”, but it’s dark and icky and funny too. #HorrorSky

It was fun to catch up with my friend Isa this morning for coffee and sketching. (It was very much a case of no perspective, just vibes.)

I saw this in a charity shop window today and my eyes fell first upon “IN LIFE - ITS WHOSE BY”, which almost broke my brain until I realised it was a continuous bit of text. Still, my eye is twitching even now at the words “ITS WHOSE”.

Jane B and Jean R in a still from "Comment réussir quand on est con et pleurnichard" (1974). Does this image exist as a film poster, I wonder? It should. Want!

How it started / How it’s going. I decided to try and make a mini Cthulhu. He has more of an Oscar the Grouch vibe. 😆

Had a wonderful time this evening at the opening of the Ouse Life Artists’ latest exhibition, “Reflections”, in Prickwillow. Highly recommended. Am posting my favourite painting from the show: an extraordinary portrait by Angie Waters.

Anyone got a pair of binoculars and a grabber I can borrow please? 🙄

Not usually a fan of patterns that involve sewing pieces together but this one, from a tutorial by ToysByValerie, is an exception.

This month I’ve crocheted all kinds of cute stuff. The book “Kawaii Crochet” and YouTube have been great for easy patterns. My favourite are the baby octopuses as they’re so quick to make. 🐙
